how funding works
once your project or initiative is approved, details will be negotiated and a written agreement sent out to confirm everything, including how much and when.
your loan is provided with zero interest. there is no commission charged, and while koha towards fever-pitch from successful projects are welcome, they are in no way expected.
profitability is not how we measure the success or failure of projects. we will forgive any loans that you genuinely cannot pay back at the end of your project – that’s the risk we take on in your place, so that you can focus on performing and creating. we ask only that you act in good faith and provide accurate and transparent records to verify your financial performance.
alternative funding
- get in touch with creative waikato, as well as central and local governments about your options. they generally offer grants that you don’t have to pay back, but are more restricted in when you can apply.
- community funding is also available from various private benefactors. these tend to be highly competitive.
- for theatre productions, get in contact directly with local producers and societies to see if they might like to fund your project.
- galleries, theatres, and cinemas may be able to collaborate with you directly or point you to the right people.
